How to keep yourself and others safe on the road?
Winter is a difficult time for drivers. Reduced visibility, slippery roads and strong winds are all factors that can increase the risk of accidents. That's why it's so important to take care of your car lights, which are essential for driving safely on the road.
Here are some tips on how to take care of your car lights in winter:
Regularly check the condition of your light bulbs.
How many times have you encountered a car on the road with just one working headlight? And in severe weather conditions you will see it even worse! Burnt-out bulbs are one of the most common car lighting problems. Check that all bulbs are working properly, both in your headlights and tail lights.
Clean your headlights of mud and snow.
Dirty and snowy headlights can significantly reduce visibility. Clean your headlights regularly for better visibility.
Check that the tail lights illuminate correctly.
Check that your brake lights, fog lights and reversing lights are working properly, this is very important when it starts to snow and the quicker the reaction of the driver behind you the safer the road.
You can protect your car lighting in other ways too:
- Install additional fog lights - they can improve visibility in severe weather conditions.
- Use a headlight wax - will help protect against scratches and tarnishing.
- Use headlight cleaner - cleaning your headlights regularly can help remove dirt and deposits.
- Use LED lamps and bulbs - they are more energy efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs and also emit a brighter and whiter light, which can improve visibility in winter conditions.
- Put your bulbs in the right position - bulbs should be positioned to illuminate the road ahead and not blind other drivers.
Remember that you can find every bulb in the M-TECH range, so keep yourself and others safe on the roads. Therefore, in the event of a breakdown, remember to replace the lights, preferably in pairs, so that both headlights shine in the same color.
