ROAD-TEQ PRO SERIES TITANIUM – a new performance standard in LED retrofit lighting

High LED output is only the beginning. In the most powerful LED retrofit solutions, effective heat dissipation, stable operating parameters and proper integration with the vehicle’s electronics are equally important. These are the key principles behind the design of the ROAD-TEQ PRO SERIES TITANIUM – the most powerful LED retrofit kit currently available in the ROAD-TEQ range, delivering up to 130 W of power and 12,000 lm of luminous flux from a two-bulb set.

Such high performance places entirely different demands on the product’s design compared with standard LED retrofit solutions. As power increases, so does the amount of heat generated, while temperature directly affects the operating conditions of both the LED chips and the control electronics. For this reason, TITANIUM was designed not only to deliver high luminous flux, but also to manage heat effectively and ensure efficient, continuous and stable operation of the entire system.

Light is generated by SMD3570 LED chips, with each of the two bulbs operating at up to 65 W. As a result, the complete set delivers a maximum output of 130 W and 12,000 lm at start-up. After 30 minutes of operation, the set maintains a stable and safe luminous flux of up to 9,200 lm. These figures position PRO SERIES TITANIUM at the top of the ROAD-TEQ LED retrofit range and among the highest-performing solutions in its category.

High Power Requires Effective Thermal Management

Temperature is one of the most significant challenges in the design of high-performance LED light sources. The greater the power of the system, the more important it becomes to transfer heat rapidly away from the LED chip and towards the components responsible for dissipating it. An enlarged aluminium heat sink alone is not always sufficient, which is why PRO SERIES TITANIUM features the Dual Heat Pipe system.

This technology uses two heat pipes to transfer thermal energy from the light-source area to the heat sink. Operating within a sealed circuit, the heat pipes efficiently move heat away from where it is generated to a surface from which it can be effectively dissipated. In TITANIUM, this is particularly important due to the high power output of the LED light sources.

However, the Dual Heat Pipe system does not operate in isolation. It is supported by Active Air Technology, an active cooling system that uses a fan to force airflow through the heat sink. Together, these solutions form an integrated thermal-management system: the heat pipes ensure efficient heat transfer, while the active airflow supports heat dissipation from the heat sink.

An additional level of protection is provided by Over Heat Protection. This electronic overheating safeguard adds another layer of control over the kit’s operating conditions. With light sources of such high power, thermal management is therefore not based on a single design feature, but on a complete system combining heat transfer, active cooling and electronic protection.

This system also plays an important role in stabilising performance after the light source is switched on. Product measurements demonstrate the stabilisation process that occurs naturally in high-performance LED light sources. As the system reaches its optimum thermal conditions, it transitions from its initial output to a stable operating level. Effective cooling is therefore essential not only for protecting the components, but also for maintaining high performance during continued operation.

More Than Light – Electronics Matter Just as Much

Another area that becomes increasingly important as LED retrofit technology advances is compatibility with the vehicle’s electrical system. Modern vehicles increasingly monitor the condition and operating parameters of their lighting systems. Differences between the electrical characteristics of a conventional bulb and an LED light source may therefore trigger error messages, flickering or other undesirable system responses. For this reason, PRO SERIES TITANIUM features the CANBUS PRO+ module, designed to improve compatibility with the vehicle’s electronics. The solution helps minimise common issues associated with replacing conventional light sources with LED retrofit bulbs and, in many applications, eliminates the need for additional electronic components.

Another important aspect of the design is EMC – Electromagnetic Compatibility. In practical terms, this refers to solutions designed to minimise electromagnetic interference generated by the kit’s electronics and ensure correct operation alongside the vehicle’s other electronic systems.

CANBUS PRO+, EMC and thermal protection demonstrate that, in a modern LED retrofit solution, the performance of the LED chip alone does not determine the quality of the complete product. The way the light source is controlled and its operation is monitored is equally important.

TITANIUM – Performance Delivered by a Complete System

In PRO SERIES TITANIUM, high luminous flux is not an isolated specification detached from the product’s overall design. Delivering 12,000 lm and 130 W per set requires carefully selected LED chips, an efficient power supply, effective heat dissipation and electronics that continuously control the system’s operation. Despite its advanced design, the product retains a Plug & Play installation concept, requiring no modifications to the vehicle’s factory electrical system. Users therefore benefit from a solution that combines exceptionally high performance with a design engineered to make replacing conventional light sources as quick and straightforward as possible.

ROAD-TEQ PRO SERIES TITANIUM is the most powerful LED retrofit kit currently available in the ROAD-TEQ range. However, its position is determined by more than its maximum output of 130 W and 12,000 lm. The key lies in the integration of SMD3570 LED chips, Dual Heat Pipe, Active Air Technology, CANBUS PRO+, Over Heat Protection and EMC. It is the coordinated operation of these technologies that unlocks the potential of high-power LED lighting and demonstrates the direction in which the most advanced LED retrofit solutions are evolving.
