New M-TECH ILRTQ2xx Series of Portable Workshop Lamps

Portable workshop lamps, also known as inspection lamps, have been one of the fastest-growing segments of the automotive accessory lighting market for several years. Precise illumination of the work area is essential for efficient and safe working. This is important not only for professional mechanics, but also for DIY enthusiasts working in garages and workshops.

As a leader in the automotive lighting industry, M-TECH is launching the all-new ILRTQ2xx series. The lamps form part of the ROAD-TEQ by M-TECH portfolio, which comprises accessories and solutions designed for professionals and demanding users. The series includes four models varying in shape, output and intended use. One distinctive feature shared by the entire range is the vivid green housing - a signature colour of the ROAD-TEQ brand - which makes the lamps much easier to locate, even in low-light conditions.

ILRTQ201

The first model in the new series is the ILRTQ201. This compact, pocket-sized inspection lamp is ideal for both quick workshop tasks and everyday use around the home. Its 3 W SMD LEDs deliver a luminous flux of 300 lm. The ILRTQ201 features a 180° swivel base, allowing the light to be directed precisely where it is needed most. It also has a retractable 360° rotating hook and a powerful magnet built into the base, making it ideal for tasks that require both hands. The built-in 1,800 mAh rechargeable battery provides up to 3 hours of continuous operation in main-light mode, while charging is via a USB-C port.

ILRTQ205

The second addition to the range is the ILRTQ205, a handheld lamp with a classic design. Its non-slip grip, lightweight construction and versatility make it an excellent tool for both workshop tasks and everyday use.

The lamp features two independent light sources powered by highly efficient SMD LEDs. The 5 W main light produces a powerful luminous flux of 500 lm, making it suitable even for demanding tasks. Two operating modes allow the light output to be adjusted to suit the job at hand. The ILRTQ205 also features a 1 W auxiliary spot light delivering 120 lm, providing effective illumination even in dark, confined areas. What truly sets this model apart is its two-axis adjustability. The movable base and 180° rotating head - the section containing the light sources - allow the beam to be directed into even the most difficult-to-reach areas, where conventional torches may prove ineffective.

In addition, the lamp is equipped with three magnets and two built-in, retractable 360° rotating hooks. These features increase its versatility and enable comfortable hands-free operation in virtually any conditions. The 2,500 mAh rechargeable battery provides up to 8 hours of continuous operation, while a full charge via USB-C takes 3 hours, as with the ILRTQ201.

ILRTQ208

The next model in the newly launched series is the ILRTQ208 - a compact, powerful, versatile and durable floodlight. Whether used to illuminate a work area or provide light during outdoor activities, it is an ideal solution for large, dark spaces.

Like the ILRTQ205, the lamp has two light sources, although in this model they are integrated into a single assembly. The main light is powered by a highly efficient 10 W LED, which emits a uniform, wide flood beam of white light with an output of 1,000 lm. The 3 W auxiliary LED delivers 300 lm. Unlike the main light, its specially designed lens produces a focused spot beam, making it ideal for narrow and confined spaces. The ILRTQ208 features a 180° rotating handle with an integrated magnet and a built-in 360° hook, allowing the light beam to be aimed precisely where it is needed. This combination also makes the lamp ideal for tasks requiring both hands.

The model is powered by a high-capacity 5,200 mAh rechargeable battery, providing up to 6 hours of continuous operation in economy mode. The ILRTQ208 can also be used as a power bank, allowing other devices to be charged wherever required. A built-in four-level LED battery charge indicator enables the user to monitor the remaining capacity at a glance, improving convenience during operation.

The product is equipped with a USB-C charging port. The use of high-quality materials in its construction gives the lamp an IP65 rating for resistance to dust and water ingress and an IK08 impact-resistance rating, ensuring reliable performance even in demanding conditions.

ILRTQ209

The ILRTQ209 is the final model introduced to the range. Its unique folding design allows it to be used both as an under-bonnet lamp—ideal for work in the engine compartment—and as a conventional handheld lamp for focused illumination of a selected area.

The model features two independently folding 5 W LED panels, delivering a combined luminous flux of 1,200 lm. Each panel can be adjusted through 110° to the left or right, while the entire light assembly can also be tilted through 225° forwards and backwards, significantly enhancing the product’s functionality.

Three operating modes allow the light output to be adapted to the task at hand, as full power is not always necessary. A unique feature of the ILRTQ209 is its specially designed handle, which can be used to position the lamp as a freestanding unit, attach it to any metal surface using the built-in magnets, or suspend it from the double hook. This design makes it easy to direct the light precisely where it is needed.

The lamp has a built-in 5,200 mAh rechargeable battery, providing 3 hours of continuous operation in boost mode (100%) and up to 12 hours in economy mode (25%). A full charge via USB-C takes 3.5 hours. The ILRTQ209 is also equipped with a four-level LED battery charge indicator, showing how much power remains before the battery is fully discharged. Its durable nylon and aluminium housing, IP54 rating for resistance to dust and water ingress, and IK07 impact-resistance rating ensure reliable performance even in the most demanding conditions.
