M-TECH LSPROS HEAVY DUTY – The new era of LED 24V lighting

As a leader in the automotive lighting industry, M-TECH is constantly listening to the market and developing its product ranges. It is no different with LED kits designed to convert traditional halogen lighting. At the beginning of 2024, the PRO series (LSPROS) kits were added to the range and immediately became extremely popular. Following the huge success of the LSPROS series, following suit, in the second half of the year M-TECH introduced the GOLD series, based on the LSPROS model but featuring a warmer light colour of up to 4000K. The information coming from the market only confirmed what we knew from the start - that this would be another bestseller in the range.
Now it is time for the third instalment of the LSPROS series, namely the HEAVY DUTY version for the wider 24V market. Two of the most popular models, the H4 and H7, will hit the market first.
Light source ...
As with the previously mentioned series, in the LSPROSHD (HEAVY DUTY) the light source is the latest generation CSP3570 LED with a colour temperature of 6000K, suitable for 24V operation. Thanks to wire-free, multi-point current distribution technology in a single chip, as well as the integration of eight chips on a single substrate, it was possible to achieve a maximum of 4800 lm and 46 W (set).
In addition, the design used results in a more homogeneous light, better coupling with headlamps and lenses, and no spots or shadows appearing on the road that occur with multiple individual LED chips.

Cooling system...
The LSPROS HEAVY DUTY (LSPROSHD) models use the well-known and extremely efficient cooling system based on FrontAir technology, which has been proven in earlier series. The most important feature that distinguishes this system from others available on the market is that it pushes air through the light shaft chamber, forcing air flow - up to 20% on the outer part of the LED - and cooling the heated phosphor.
This has a positive effect on the thermal stabilisation of the LED chip, as well as forcing air circulation in the headlight chamber itself, which has a direct effect on its service life and, consequently, on road safety. In addition, the cooling system is supplemented by a copper pin, which further reduces the temperature of the LED itself.
Size...
As with the entire LSPRO SMART family of traditional automotive lighting conversion kits, the Heavy Duty range has also been developed to create products that replicate traditional halogen bulbs on a 1:1 scale in terms of size. This solution makes installation effortless, even in headlamps with very little space.
NTC sensor ...
With such small LED light sources, such as H7 bulbs, it is extremely important to add thermal coupling. Despite their small size, the entire LSPROS range, including HEAVY DUTY, incorporates a key element responsible for maintaining the correct temperature - the NTC sensor, which directly affects the life of the product.
When the bulb heats up above 100°C, the NTC sensor informs the current control system of the high operating temperature. This circuit starts to reduce the LED retrofit current to keep the temperature stable. This results in stabilisation of both temperature and luminous flux. It also has a positive effect on achieving a low drop, i.e. a minimum drop in luminous flux over time.

In summary...
The newly designed LSPROS Heavy Duty retrofit series (LSPROSHD) is M-TECH's answer to market needs. It is probably the most technologically advanced solution for converting traditional lighting to LED, suitable for 24V installations and available in the All-In-One segment (1:1 products equivalent to traditional incandescent bulbs).
The use of state-of-the-art technologies, such as the dedicated CSP3570 LED chip, the FrontAir cooling system with a fan designed specifically for the LSPROS project, the NTC sensor and the copper pin inside the bulb, makes it difficult to find equally advanced products in the 24V (HEAVY DUTY) segment on the market. All this together ensures more light in continuous operation and a low drop in luminous flux over time (low drop). In addition, the extremely compact size, equivalent to traditional incandescent lamps, means that even in hard-to-reach and small spaces installation is not a problem. Products in the LSPROSHD series are shockproof and have an IP65 water and dust resistance rating.
An additional advantage of LED technology is the absence of UV emissions (which prevents damage to the reflector), lower energy consumption and longer service life.
