M-TECH launches innovative WLLDL laser car lights on the European market

It has happened. M-TECH is the first company on the European market to introduce lamps based on LASER light sources, the so-called Work Laser Long Distance Lamp (WLLDL). In the context of automotive lighting, laser technology is considered an innovation comparable to such breakthroughs as the introduction of halogen, xenon and, more recently, LED lamps. It is envisaged that laser light sources will provide entirely new possibilities for the design of, among other things, headlamps or long-range lamps and improve their performance, allowing them to be reduced in size without affecting brightness and to achieve a range of road illumination unmatched by other types of headlamps. This will be possible because laser light is distinguished by a brightness greater than that of other technologies. For example: it is four times brighter than LEDs. Initially, three models WLLDL105 (5‘’), WLLDL107 (7‘’) and WLLDL109 (9‘’) will be on offer, offering up to 1,600m range.

WLLDL105…

The first of the models is the WLLDL105 lamp. With a diameter of 5', this model is equipped with a 15W diode made using laser technology and 8 High Power LEDs. This combination results in 6400lm, which makes the luminous flux reach up to 1082m@1LUX.

WLLDL107...

Another model is the WLLDL107. The light source is a 15W laser diode, as in the earlier model, plus an additional 12 HP LEDs. This combination, allows to send a luminous flux over a distance of up to 1128m@1LUX and achieve up to a maximum of 10900lm. The WLLDL107 is a slightly larger lamp than its predecessor. Its diameter is 7 inches.

WLLDL109…

The third and final model is the flagship WLLDL109. It is the largest of the lamps being introduced, with a diameter of 9 inches, and thus with the best light parameters. Thanks to the use of a 30W laser diode and an additional 28 LEDs made in High Power technology, we obtain a lighting effect hitherto unattainable for even the most efficient light sources used in the automotive industry. This combination makes it possible to achieve a maximum of 19400lm, and thus illuminate up to 1600m@1LUX of the road in front of the vehicle.

The manufacturing process for all models uses die-cast aluminium housings, the highest quality components, and a polycarbonate lens that is scratch and fade resistant. A stainless steel U-bracket is included to securely attach the light without vibration or oscillation and a black cap to cover them.

In addition, the WLLDL105 and WLLDL107 models have 2 caps, a transparent one and an orange one, used to diffuse the light from a spot to a more diffused light, while the WLLDL109 model is equipped with an orange cap allowing the light to change colour.

All lights are IP67 rated for water resistance, guaranteeing reliability even in the harshest conditions.

Summary

M-TECH, as a leader in the automotive lighting industry, has always been known for introducing innovative products that are hard to find in other companies' ranges. The work lamps being introduced, created on the basis of laser light sources, are a perfect example of this and the beginning of a real revolution in this segment. Just look at the range of light offered by all models, unattainable by previous technologies. Initially, three round models with diameters of 5 (WLLDL105), 7 (WLLDL107) and 9 (WLLDL109) inches will hit the market, ensuring that everyone will find a product to suit their needs. In addition, all models come with black caps to cover them, and WLLDL105 and WLLDL107 additionally have transparent and orange caps for light diffusion.
