Innovative laser tactical flashlights M-TECH TLF10x
The latest trends and innovative solutions are M-TECH's motto when it comes to building its range. This time is no different. We are the first on the European market to introduce a series of TLF (Tactical Laser Flashlights). To begin with, the range will include 4 models: TLF101, TLF102, TLF104 and TLF105, which differ in size and luminous flux (light output). The tactical laser flashlights are characterised by one key feature, namely that they emit a concentrated light beam with a range of up to 1700m@0.25LUX. All models are innovative designs in which the white laser wave is transformed into a stream of concentrated, full-spectrum light. Thanks to the advanced optics, a focused beam of light is created with an impressive range of up to 1,700m@0.25LUX, enabling precise illumination of a distant target. The body of all models is made of hardened A6061-T6 aluminium, subjected to a hard anodising process. The hard-wearing oxide coating permanently protects the torch tube and head from scratches and abrasion.
What exactly is a laser light...
In the TLF series of laser tactical flashlights, a laser emitter is responsible for the light source, generating a luminous flux of up to 500 lumens (lumens are not the most important thing for laser tactical flashlights, but more on that later). The flashlights use, as we have already mentioned, a white laser wave, which, after hitting a fluorescent luminophore reflector, is converted by the optics into broad-spectrum white light. The wave penetrating the three-layer lens creates a concentrated white laser beam similar to the bandwidth produced by a diode. White laser illumination maintains high collimation properties. All models are also safe to use, as the optics deprive the laser light of the harmful effects normally found in monochromatic light, which is confirmed by, among other things, FDA certification.
What is a candela (CD)...
As already mentioned for laser tactical flashlights, lumens are not the most important thing. A much more important parameter to pay attention to is the number of candelas. The candela is a unit of luminosity that defines the magnitude of the visual brightness of light and is the basic unit included in the SI system. It is designated by the abbreviation CD. The candela is the luminous intensity of a light source (emitting monochromatic radiation) in a specific direction. One candela is assumed to be the luminous intensity of a candle. It is therefore our point of comparison. A typical fluorescent lamp (CFL), which is 25W in power, has a luminous intensity of approximately 135 candelas. It is important to know that the luminosity is related to the focus of the beam. This means that the same fluorescent lamp placed, for example, in a luminaire focusing the light to, say, 20 degrees, will have a luminous intensity of 18,000 candelas. Thus, we know that the luminosity depends on the focus of the light beam and the power of the source, and not only on the latter. Therefore, in the case of laser tactical flashlights, lumens are not the most important thing because the light beam itself has been focused to 1-2 degrees
4 models to start...
The first of the flashlights to be introduced is the TLF101 model. This small pocket-sized torch is equipped with a 10W laser-type diode, allowing it to illuminate objects at up to a maximum distance of 412m. The light source used generates a maximum of 490lm and achieves a light intensity of 170,000 CD. The torch itself has 5 light modes, including strobe and SOS, and is equipped with an 1100mAh (4.07Wh) rechargeable battery with a built-in USB-C charging port, which allows for up to 2h 50min of use.
The second model is the TLF102. This is a handy, compact laser tactical torch equipped, like the TLF101, with a 10W laser diode. Due to its larger dimensions than its predecessor, it allows it to illuminate objects at distances of up to 1100m@0.25LUX. The light source used achieves up to 490lm and the luminosity is as high as 300,000 CD. The 5 light modes (including SOS) mean that everyone will be able to match the appropriate level of light intensity needed in a given situation The capacity of the battery with built-in USB-C type charging socket is 5000mAh (18.5 Wh) so that we can enjoy up to 5h 25min of illumination.
The third model being introduced is the TLF104 which, like the TLF102, is a compact handheld laser tactical torch. The light source is a 10W laser diode generating a maximum of 270lm and allowing a light intensity of 270,000 CD. Thanks to this combination, the beam enables precise illumination of the target at distances of up to 1039m@0.25LUX. Unlike previous models, the TLF104 has 1 light mode, which, combined with a 3300mAh (12.2 Wh) battery, enables up to 2h 20min of continuous illumination.
Last in the TLF10x series is the flagship TLF105 model. This is the largest of the laser tactical flashlights being introduced and features the best light performance of all 4 models. Thanks to the use of a 15W laser diode, an incredible light intensity of 758,000 CD at a maximum of 413lm has been achieved. This combination means that with the TLF105 we can observe objects at distances of up to 1730m@0.25LUX. Like the first two models, the torch has 5 light modes, including strobe and SOS, which, combined with a 6000mAh (22.2 Wh) battery equipped with a USB-C charging port, allows it to be used for up to 7h 55min.
Summary
As a leader in the lighting industry, M-TECH has been setting trends in the market for years. The TLF series of laser tactical flashlights just introduced is a true revolution in this segment. Introduced to begin with, the 4 models TLF101, TLF102, TLF104 and TLF105 differ in size and luminosity, ensuring that everyone will find a product to suit their needs. Depending on the model, the light source is 10W and 15W laser diodes. Tactical laser flashlights use a white laser wave which, after hitting a fluorescent reflector made of luminophore, is converted by the optical system into white light with a wide spectrum. It is worth mentioning here that, in this type of product, the most important thing to pay attention to is not lumens but candela, which is the unit of luminosity (luminosity depends on the focus of the light beam and the power of the source, not just the latter). The TLF10x series proposes models in which the luminous intensity ranges from 170 000 CD to as much as 758 000 CD. Depending on the model, this allows the illumination of a target located up to 1730m@0.25LUX. The TLF101, TLF102, TLF104 and TLF105 are safe to use, as the optics deprive the laser light of the harmful effects normally found in monochromatic light, as confirmed by FDA certification, among others. All models are made from hardened A6061-T6 aluminium, subjected to a hard anodising process, and a wear-resistant oxide coating permanently protects the torch tube and head from scratches and abrasion. All TLF laser tactical flashlights are IP65 certified waterproof and dustproof, allowing them to be used even in very harsh conditions. The entire TLF10x series combines impressive light performance, long runtime and functionality to create a reliable tool for uniformed services or hunters, among others.
