Automechanika Frankfurt 2024

Key trends and inspiration for the global automotive market

As every two years, I start my summary of our participation at Automechanika with the same words - they did it again. This year's edition, record-breaking in many respects, proved once again why Automechanika is a key and must-attend event for companies active in the global automotive market. Automechanika Frankfurt 2024 features 4,200 exhibitors from 80 countries and more than 108,000 visitors, gathered in search of inspiration, new business opportunities and to highlight their presence in the international automotive arena. For us, it is not only an opportunity to meet current and potential partners, but it is above all an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the latest trends and their impact on the day-to-day running of the industry.

Although it is increasingly being said that, in the face of rushing digitalisation, seeking customers at industry trade fairs is a relic, our experience strongly contradicts this. This edition has brought us many valuable business contacts, especially from outside Europe, where it can sometimes be challenging to establish cooperation at a distance. In the rapidly changing environment of international trade, it is crucial to combine modern tools - such as digital platforms or online marketing - with traditional forms. It is the synergy of these two approaches, supported by a well-thought-out strategy, that has enabled us to consistently achieve our goals over the years.

Key findings after the fair:

Electromobility on an upward wave: Alternative drives - electric, hydrogen and hybrid - are becoming the new standard. Their development requires increasingly high-tech solutions, including energy-efficient lighting systems.

Digital transformation and AI: Automation, digitalisation and the rapid development of artificial intelligence are changing the way garages operate and allowing the personalisation of the customer experience to an unprecedented extent.

Investment in young talent: Faced with a growing skills shortage in the automotive market, the industry is actively investing in the education of representatives of the so-called Generation Z

Demand for premium components is growing: Advanced lighting systems are becoming increasingly important, especially in the electric and autonomous vehicle segments, which require innovative technological solutions.

Increasing competition: An increasingly dynamic automotive market requires manufacturers to be more flexible, react faster to trends and constantly seek innovative competitive advantages.
