A new look at the warehouse of the future

My report from MODERNLOG Trade Fair for Logistics, Warehousing and Transport

I had the opportunity to attend Modernlog 2025 - one of the most important industry events dedicated to logistics, automation and warehouse innovation. It is not only an overview of technology, but also a real mine of knowledge, inspiration and contacts.

Innovations that really make a difference:

  • transport robots and systems
  • modern picking solutions
  • Artificial intelligence in data analysis
  • flexible and scalable warehouse systems
  • maximising space utilisation

It is clear to see: optimisation, automation and flexibility are not trends - they are a real necessity in today's business environment.

Conversations that matter

Meetings with practitioners - from the supplier side as well as production or e-commerce companies - were very valuable. Shared experiences, different approaches and concrete tips show how much we can learn from each other - and how much can still be improved in our own organisation.

Smart Warehouse Community conference - concrete and inspirational

During the conference, the themes resonated particularly strongly:

  • digital transformation of the supply chain
  • WMS integration with ERP and e-commerce platforms
  • Workforce management in an automation environment

What was most valuable - honest discussions about real challenges, from system implementations to space barriers and staff shortages.

Confirmation of good decisions

For me personally, it was also a moment that confirmed to me that the implementation of a WMS in our company was a shot in the arm - streamlined processes, better reporting and greater transparency are tangible results that today translate into our advantage.

Conclusions?

The warehouse of the future is already happening - and is being created where data meets flexibility, automation and openness to change. I am glad to have been part of this event - I return with a new perspective and ideas that we will definitely implement in our daily work.
